Pythagorean Numerology

Pythagorean numerology is the standard Western system of numerology, attributed to the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras (c. 570–495 BCE). It is the most commonly taught and practised form of numerology today, forming the basis of most Western readings.

Core Principle

Pythagoras believed that numbers are the fundamental language of the universe — that all of reality can be reduced to numerical relationships. His system assigns the numbers 1 through 9 sequentially to the 26 letters of the modern alphabet:

Pythagorean vs Chaldean
